Hope Ministry
|

"Most people think that Hope is something you do . . . but the Bible tells us that Hope is something that we have." (Reverend Raymond Johns – Pastor, CHBC)
The Hope Ministry at Catawba Heights Baptist Church was born with one purpose – to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ at two of life's most trying times, facing a serious illness/death and the loss of a loved one. The ministry serves to bring the message of hope to individuals who are personally facing one or both of these instances.

We use as the symbol of our ministry – the anchor. In the midst of a storm-tossed sea of life, we reach for an anchor and we find through faith that one anchor holds and that anchor is Jesus Christ. In the middle of the anchor is the cross – the symbol of God's love for us because He loved us so much, He sent His only Son to die for each of us.

"Looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the
great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:13)
"And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence
to the full assurance of hope unto the end." (Hebrews 6:11)
"And now, brothers and sister, I want you to know what will happen to
the Christians who have died, so you will not be full of sorrow like
people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and
was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God
will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died."
(I Thess. 4: 13-14)
